Me gusta Todd Clary.

I like Todd Clary. I really do. He’s the kind of man I always dreamed of to be: smart, wise, direct, sincere, clever, funny, tender and stubborn.

Todd ClaryI met him through Internet and inmediatly I was captivated by this man who could achieved an entire physical transformation against society’s standard beliefs, and who likes to demostrate it to the entire world with pride, straight-acting behaviour, and most important for me, a kind of tender determination and a strong faith, capable of to move an entire mountain if he wanted it or needed it to do so.

That’s how I found his blog, Waltzing In Perdition, and how my admiration has began.

Through the different entries of his blog, I found a man proud of his physical achivements, but more so, proud of being capable to transmute his inner world into his outside, trying to marry those two men in one and only great man. That amazed me. Because his inner world, full of poetry, kindness, sensibility, irony, humor and sharp-tongued commentaries, was portrayed on this blog with tender ease, with some kind of cristal transparency and with such wonderful love, that it was addictive, groundbreaking and unforgettable to me.

I found that he is synesthete. An incredible gift that life gave to him, making him capable to see the movements of the wind with rainbow’s colours, to listen to the music of the raindrops pouring into feelings and sensations, and to watch the smell of the grass growing in springtime talking to each other with a happy chit-chat. And this ability makes him capable to portray life in the unique way he does, full of silly notions, deepest lessons and funny memories that only reflect the day by day life he’s living at.

And A Beautiful Hell is the way he found to share with us his magnifique inner world and his way to teach us how unexpected things and silly moments that life is made of, finally touch our hearts and make our very own life worth living. Through his experience with marriage and parentship and friendship, he paints an entire picture of life with bright, sincere, ironic, tender and sharp colours, and elevates everyday life to the state of true Art. Every event of life has a lesson to give an to accept. And he shows us how funny, tender, smart, clever and stupid life can be without a shade of a boring or a heavy structured-mind limitations our blind growing-up process could gave to us once.

In A Beautiful Hell, nothing is saved to his sharpened language, nor to his fine sense of smell: neither his marriage or his children or his own dog (that is always on the couch); but everything is told to us with a warmth, lovely and naive prose. Because no one better than him to protray with fine brush the many facts of life; the succesful stories and the mistakes that lay behind the unexpected; the magnificence that is hidden behind the dayly events of life.

I admire everything about Todd: his maturity, his honesty, his playful wisdom, his inquisitive spirit, his kidness, his sharp tongue…, and even his forgetfulness about commas.

A Beautiful Hell is the first volume of The Waltzing In Predition Chronicles, and is the first volume of memories of Life seen through the eyes of a healthy Northern-American man, without complexs, full of perplexity, smooth beauty and fine humour, that teach to us that this life, in spite of superficial differences that separate us, is a common and wonderful experience to all of us and through which we can learn, laugh and find out the unveiled beauty of the every lived day.

And I also have to say that I love Todd. And that I truly enjoy how he spreads his silver wings to enjoy the fly of the true artists, those that are capable to draw life with the most tender draft of the most brightness stars.

Noche de San Juan/ Summer Solstice.

El día a día/ The days we're living

It’s Saint John’s Night, the Summer Solstice. And in this magic night, fires are lightned up to help the dying sun reach the Winter Solstice.

It’s a mix of Paganism and Christianism as well as many other calendar festivities. And, like others, keep inside its truly treasure: days are getting narrow from tonight; the cosmic winter is starting by now; and it’s time to renewal, to take risks and to jump into the unknown and to reach a whole new life. It’s a night of new beginings, and that’s why we burn up the old us on these flames, looking for this new earth, this whole new life that wait inside us, inside our own true time.

Días de Junio/ Days of June

El mar interior/ The sea inside

Days of june: magic time, sunlight nights, eternal heaviness.

3595014524_97ed23623c

I don’t like June. With such excess of light my heart is heavier. With the sun smiling at nights, my heart gets cloudy and fearful.

June is the end of my life, because is the summit of the light.

But with June light goes down slowly but unstoppably.

I don’t like days of June: they echoes of you in me.

And I don’t love you anymore.

I love you more than ever before.

And June, with its storms of eternal light, gives me pain. More pain. And solitude.

My shadow is longer in June’s nights plenty of sunlight.

I don’t like June’s sunlight: because it is you.

The Adagio movement from El Concierto de Aranjuez by Joaquín Rodrigo (1901-1999) is a masterpiece for Spanish Guitar. Played by some many brilliant musicians, today it is brought to us by the hands of young and very talented Sweddish guitarrist Mattias Jacobsson.

El Concierto de Aranjuez in this second movement, is a piece of growing power that ends in a magnificent climax where love, lust, desperation, silence and solitude melt together in an eternal embrace. As eternal as the beautiful palaces, gardens and fountains of the Royal Place of Aranjuez are, on which Joaquín Rodrigo based his famous musical piece.
